Does CWD pose a health risk to humans?


There is no strong evidence that chronic wasting disease (CWD) can be passed to humans. However the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that people avoid eating venison from CWD positive deer or elk.
